UNTIL WE BLOG AGAIN

A PACKING BREAK

Well, this is the last Relished W(h)ine List for a while as leave to go blather at South America ... but it's a relief to put the gardening list to bed. Geez, I haven't evolved much from having plantless NYC apartments because I kept putting them on top of radiators... Anyway, some good reads under publications:

CITY SLICKER'S "WINTER GARDEN" HARVEST (the final sorry tally)
eight clumps of bok choy

three thick and two skinny clumps of purple kale

three clumps of Red Velvet lettuce (or is that cabbage?)

four clumps of either lettuce or kale

54 Meyer lemons

PUBLICATIONS
GENERIC WHISTLE STOP by Thomas Fink (brilliant textual manifestation of the life of a whistled sound)

BARF MANIFESTO by Dodie Bellamy (brilliant and nifty linkage of barf to Op Art)

RINGING by Rauan Klassnik; free e-pub HERE (checked this out at Rebecca Loudon's recommendation -- and it is indeed a "blood jet" read)

HOW TO SPELL THE SOUND OF EVERYTHING, poetry -- visual and text -- collaboration by Sheila Murphy & mIEKAL aND (the cover image alone, a wonderful vizpo collaboration, is worthy enough for checking out this publication)

237 MORE REASONS TO HAVE SEX, poetry collaboration/instigations by Denise Duhamel and Sandy McIntosh (Reason No. 219: "I was used to destruction" -- one of many lines that made Moi snort out the spatlese)

SHY GREEN FIELDS, poems by Hugh Behm-Steinberg (Behm-Steinberg is one of those poets who've long hovered at the periphery of my attention, i.e. I don't see his works often but whenever I read one of his poems it only makes me want to read more. So, I was grateful to see this full-length book...and it is definitely HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It's the most intelligent rhythm I've experienced in recent memory of poetry. And the language is quite often simply gorgeous luminosity....)

THE ELDER SERIES 3, poetry by Chris Kraus and Tisa Bryant

FROM HERE, poems by Zoe Skoulding and images by Simonetta Moro (what a lovely evocative project. And delighted to see a list of the images reproduced and the mediums in which the originals were created -- some people don't bother listing the medium details...and it matters!)

CIRCA, poems by Hannah Zeavin

THE UNDERWATER HOSPITAL, poems by Jan Steckel

ATLAS, poems by Katrina Vandenberg (fabulous nose though somewhat a short finish)

MYTHS & TEXTS, poems by Gary Snyder

MOM'S CANOE, poems by Rebecca Foust

RECYCLING SUNLIGHT

Is there nothing new under the sun? Really? While thinking about that, I decided to recycle sentences from my first prose poetry series, "Life Sentences" (from first collection Beyond Life Sentences ) to create "new" poems. Along the way, I flirted with certain Roman poets because they're ... old. Two results are up today at P.F.S. Post, thanks to editor Adam Fieled. Click on excerpt to go to the whole thing:
